Where Our Crews Work

Our work covers Dallas and the cities that share its edges. That includes Irving and Farmers Branch to the northwest, Richardson and Garland to the northeast, and Mesquite to the east. To the south and southwest we work in Lancaster, Duncanville and Cockrell Hill. University Park and Highland Park are smaller and surrounded by Dallas, and they have their own building departments.

The service itself does not change from town to town. That covers solar panel installation, roof-mounted solar, battery storage, solar repair and panel cleaning. What changes is the paperwork. Each city reviews plans, issues its own electrical permit and sends its own inspector. We handle those steps for you and tell you at the start which office your job goes through.

What Applies Across the Dallas Area

  1. 01

    Utilities and interconnection

Most homes in the area are on Oncor's wires. In that territory you pick a retail electric plan, and whether you get credit for exported power depends on that plan. Garland has its own city-owned utility with its own interconnection rules. Before we size a system, we check which one serves your home, because export credit changes how many panels or how much battery capacity makes sense.

  2. 02

    Heat, hail and dust

North Texas summers push panel surface temperatures well past the air temperature, and output drops a little as cells heat up. We account for that when we estimate production. Spring storms bring hail. Tempered panel glass is rated for impact, but racking, conduit and wiring still need a look after a bad storm. Pollen and dry-season dust build a film that panel cleaning removes.

  3. 03

    Housing age and roofs

Homes here range from prewar houses in the Park Cities to 1960s ranch homes and newer subdivisions in the suburbs. Older houses often have smaller electrical panels that may need an upgrade before solar can tie in. Many roofs are composition shingle, and we check the decking and shingle age before mounting anything. If your roof is close to the end of its life, we tell you so you can replace it before the array goes on.

  4. 04

    HOAs and permits

Texas law limits how far an HOA can go in banning solar. An association can still have rules about placement or appearance, so we review your HOA's guidelines and prepare drawings for its approval. City permits and a final inspection are part of every installation we do. Your utility gives permission to operate only after that inspection passes.
